Tanja Mitrovic is leading a research team in a three-year project starting early next year that will explore adaptive computer-based cognitive training for post-stroke rehabilitation. Tanja has been awarded an $830,000 Marsden research grant for this project. The research team consists of Tanja Mitrovic (ICTG, UC), Stellan Ohlsson (University of Illinois, Chicago), Audrey McKinlay (Psychology, UC), and Moffat Mathews (ICTG, UC).

The Marsden awards are government-funded awards, administered by the Royal Society of New Zealand, and are regarded as a hallmark of excellence, allowing New Zealand’s best researchers to explore their ideas. The fund supports projects in the sciences, technology, engineering and maths, social sciences and the humanities. This year, of the 1089 applications overall, 102 were successful (a 9.5% success rate) and in the Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences' panel, out of the 108 initial proposals, 7 were successful (6.5% success rate).
